Surroundings
Our inn sits in Mittelbach, above Gengenbach. Anyone who comes to see us will find plenty to look at right around the house.
Wildlife Enclosure
In our wildlife enclosures you'll find deer and goats.
You can see the animals from our terrace. In the winter half of the year, the deer also provide the venison for our game dishes.
Around the House
Right by the house there's a playground, a park and our beer garden. Our large terrace is partly covered.
We have our own dishes for children on the menu. Dogs are welcome in the beer garden and on the terrace, but not inside the Gaststube (dining room).
Gengenbach
Down in the valley lies Gengenbach, with its historic old town.
"A pearl among the romantic half-timbered towns," as television once put it; our visitors rave about this romantic gem, affectionately nicknamed the "Nice of Baden." Even from a distance, the towers and gates invite you into the historic old town, and narrow lanes lead you into picturesque corners and alleyways. Standing proud, the "stone knight" greets us from the fountain on the market square. He bears witness to the pride and self-confidence of the former Free Imperial City, just like the imposing town hall - over 200 years old - which, together with countless romantic half-timbered buildings, defines the townscape.
